About the role…

 

We are looking for Lifestyle Assistants who are passionate about caring for aging Victorians and can communicate well within a team.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist and support the Lifestyle Program Coordinator to create and deliver a leisure and lifestyle program that caters to both individual and group needs.
  • Drive and/or supervise bus excursions.(12 seater van)
  • Support residents to optimise their involvement and independence and engage in activities of their choice.
  • Supervise volunteers/school students involved in the lifestyle and leisure program delivery.
  • Focuses on ageing well and delivering a service that strives to maintain and enhance the resident’s health and well-being, capabilities, independence, choice, privacy, dignity and safety.

 

About you..

 

As someone with previous experience in the aged care industry, you are a kind, genuine and caring individual who is committed to providing a consistent, professional and effective level of support.  You are also respectful and passionate about caring for older people.

 

You are an upbeat and positive person, who is able to clearly communicate, and build genuine relationships with Residents, the team and other staff and ensure a high level of dignity is maintained.

 

To be considered for this role, you MUST have the following relevant experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications:

  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Health or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 yrs experience in a Lifestyle Assistant role (preferred but not limited to)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of the needs and issues relating to older people and the importance of maintaining independence and social connections and those with dementia
  • Understanding of the needs and issues relating to older people and the importance of maintaining independence and social connections and those with dementia
  • Understanding of aged care regulatory requirements, including accreditation
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft programs
  • Ability to multi-task, organise and prioritise
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems within authority
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License
  • Must have COVID-19 Vaccination
