Position Summary

The position provides a high level of Human Resources services and advice across AWP Australia business segment. The Human Resource Advisor is responsible for the overall development and implementation of effective human resources frameworks, policies and procedures to support AWP Australia’s strategic business objectives, to attract, retain, develop and manage a highly engaged and committed work force through the provision of systematic, coordinated services across each Program.

The Human Resource Generalist position is to ensure services are cost effective and aligned to the organisation’s strategic business plans and champion of the Terex Way values. In conjunction with the Management Team, the position provides effective line management support to achieve the business wide objectives for all departments.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to the Terex policy, procedures and work instructions, all OH&S procedures, policies and work instructions. In addition, ensure compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements.

  • Managing the Payroll function and required approvals with assistance from the Payroll Coordinator.

  • Managing the Training and Development function. Working with team members and managers to ensure training and development is understood, measured, and improved. Ensure all training and professional development within the organisation is strategically linked to organisational needs and aligned to performance reviews and business planning processes.

  • Provide support and mentoring to Terex Managers in the area of people management.

  • Industrial Relations, by representing Terex as an advocate, or arranges representation as appropriate at IR Tribunals and hearings.

  • Overall responsibility for the employment function and its operations which includes the delivery of policies, procedures, quality instruction, training and forms, recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction process and exit interviews.

  • Development of all employment contracts in accordance with relevant awards and legislation Provide advice and support to Managers on relevant policies, how to conduct counselling / interviews, addressing grievance disputes within framework, working within specific timeframes, resolution of ER issues, discipline, counselling, and termination.

  • Performance Management and Review Process by liaising with managers on the effective development and use of Team Member Central system and its roll out across the business via regular reviews and communications on individual and team performance.

  • Develop and implement best practice and policies consistent with the above and be the liaison or contact point for internal and external clients of Terex and provide advice and guidance concerning any investigation of EEO related complaints. Ensure education, promotion, and awareness of EEO in the workplace is maintained.

  • Employee engagement and retention processes including engagement surveys and reporting on employee satisfactions

  • Lead the people agenda for the business and successfully and reliably deliver effective outcomes. Including working with line managers to develop organisation workforce plan to meet current and future needs of the business

  • Any other duties as required to complete role or as advised by line management/leadership team

  • Position Qualifications

    Education & Training

  • Bachelor of Business majoring in Human Resources or related discipline

  • Extensive practical experience in a HR Advisor or Business Partner role

  • Experience and Skills

  • Knowledgeable, experienced & confident with Industrial (IR) and Employee (ER) Relations.

  • Able to build strong relationships with local & regional managers. Guiding, supporting, coaching and developing leaders and employees in complex HR matters.

  • Experience managing performance improvement and resolving employee grievances.

  • Excellent time management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrates a high degree of initiative with the ability to exercise judgement.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and meet deadlines.
