Biodiversity Australia is a Environmental Consultancy which brings exciting opportunities in Conservation Land Management within the South East Queensland region.

About the Opportunity

We are actively recruiting for both Land Conservation Team Leads & Members in the exciting industry of Ecological & Land Restoration.

The position will require the right person to provide knowledge and labour to the environmental regeneration process, including best practice for weed control and planting.

This opportunity has potential to expand and develop our internal Vegetation Team, provide supervision and mentorship within the immediate team, and build long-lasting relationships with our client.

About you

To be successful in the Land Conservation Team Lead role, you will have demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Conservation Land Management Cert III or higher (minimum) or tertiary degree.
  • Experience in identification of species both native and weeds.
  • Chemical application accreditation/ACDC Licence and General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Minimum 3 years’ Experience in natural area restoration.
  • Experience in interpreting Ecological Restoration or Vegetation Management Plans.
  • Experience with equipment operations such as pumps, chainsaws, brush-cutters etc. is desirable.
  • Experience with Fauna work i.e. Fauna Spotting and Surveys. Desirable but not essential.
  • To be successful in the Land Conservation Team Member role, the following requirements/skills are desirable but not essential:

  • Conservation Land Management Cert I or II.
  • Experience/Interests in identification of species both native and weeds.
  • Chemical application accreditation/ACDC Licence and General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Experience/Interest in native restoration.
  • 4WD experience.
  • Handtool knowledge.
  • Ability to read a map.
  • All applicants require the following:

  • Manual Car Licence.
  • Ability to pass a police check.
  • Flexibility to work away when required.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
