We are seeking a values-driven and pro-active Drive for Life Volunteer Administrator for The Salvation Army.

Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and pro-active Drive for Life Volunteer Administrator for The Salvation Army. This position will support the delivery of Drive for Life by focusing on the implementation of our volunteer recruitment and retention strategy, including engaging local community, driving volunteer recruitment and supporting volunteer induction and training. This role will give volunteers an opportunity to continue to develop skills and build experience in administration, use of systems and software, reporting and some volunteer engagement activities.

You will successfully

  • Drive volunteer recruitment through building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
  • Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of volunteer referral pathways within service delivery regions
  • Screen volunteer enquires and manage website and social media
  • Liaise with program coordinator to arrange volunteer interviews
  • Support new volunteers to complete their onboarding
  • Organise and support volunteer induction and training
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with other services
  • Perform administration and clerical functions for Drive for Life as required
  • This is a maximum fixed term, part-time position for 12 months, based in Stafford, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.

    You will have

  • Qualification in a relevant field or significant demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge, and skills
  • A strong team focus with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build relationships with people of all backgrounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Community Services and Business Administration
  • Experience with volunteer management or recruitment
  • Confident use of technology
  • Able to interact positively with young people, parents, volunteers, and co-workers
  • Able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • Current Blue Card/WWCC
  • Current Driver’s Licence
