The ERA is looking to establish a pool of Analysts (Level 4 to level 7) in our Energy Markets division. It is an exciting time to join the energy industry in Western Australia and if successful, you will be involved in a range of challenging work undertaken by the Energy Markets division, including the ERA’s engagement in energy market reforms.

Further appointments may be made as and when opportunities arise in the next 12 months.

About the Roles

Assistant Analyst (Level 4)

The Assistant Analyst supports other analysts and project officers identify suitable data, screen and cleanse the data, analyse the data and write up results of analysis.

Analyst (Level 5)

The Analyst actively contributes to the undertaking, review and evaluation of complex and sensitive research and analysis and also that of the legislation, policy and specific issues relevant to energy markets.

Senior Analyst (level 6)

The Senior Analyst provides high level professional assistance to the management, undertaking, review and evaluation of complex and sensitive research and analysis and independently undertakes a variety of complex and sensitive research projects.

Principal Analyst (Level 7)

The Principal Analyst provides specialist expertise, initiates, leads and manages complex and sensitive research and analysis in electricity and gas markets. The Principal Analyst interrogates regulatory information, economic, financial models and applies relevant analytical frameworks to determine the validity of the information and find relevant solutions to address complex issues.

About the ERA  

The ERA is Western Australia’s independent economic regulator. We aim to ensure that the delivery of water, electricity, gas and rail services is in the long-term interests of Western Australians. 

The ERA has three main functions. One of these is to conduct independent inquiries on important economic issues and make recommendations to the State Government. We also ensure utilities are operating in the long-term interests of consumers. Finally, we ensure the Wholesale Electricity Market is operating effectively.
