Registered/Enrolled Nurse – Transition to Acute Care Program

The Opportunity

To be part of the Mater Transition to Acute Care (TAC) program we are looking for remarkable Registered and Enrolled Nurses who are passionate about nursing.

Our program runs for 12 months. The program is designed for RN/EN’s who have prior nursing experience in areas such as aged care or medical clinics and have not had the opportunity to either complete a Graduate program or have limited experience in the acute care setting in the previous 4 years.

We offer orientation to departments, Individualised Learning Plans, Study Days, dedicated preceptors, Educators and experienced staff to assist you throughout your program

About You

  • Current valid registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (APHRA)
  • Have no more than 4 years’ experience as a RN/EN in non-acute areas
  • Provide all required documentation as requested via the Mater Workday system
  • Provide documentation supporting Australian Residency status (i.e. proof of residency or citizenship)
  • be able to undertake 12 months full-time or part time employment (4 days per week)
  • display effective interpersonal skills and be able to build rapport with a diverse range of people
  • be able to accept professional accountability for own actions
  • be aware of own limitations
  • Have a strong ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and provide exceptional “Person Centred Care”
  • demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development
