Duties and responsibilities we’ll trust you wit h

Undertaking day to day Library Cafe operations including:

barista duties

sales

cash handling

stocking

float reconciliation

end of day banking procedures

preparation of food for individuals and small to medium size groups,

meeting State Library’s customer service commitments

Participating in a high performing Library Cafe team to deliver a professional and responsive visitor services experience which meets key service objectives and organisational priorities

Responding to general client enquiries, including providing advice and information on library memberships as well as gathering visitor feedback

Working effectively as a team member and undertaking front of house services. This includes the presentation and maintenance of the cafes and surrounding spaces

Ensuring records management is undertaken, such as updating daily operations log on a timely basis

Collaborating with other teams across State Library. This includes providing quality community and internal stakeholder support

Contributing to business improvement activities and adhering to relevant policies and procedures to ensure services meet best practice and State Library requirements. This also includes a continuous improvement cycle for feedback, raising concerns and generating solutions

Contributing to a productive and positive work environment in times of change and uncertainty. This includes being a proactive member of the Visitor Services team and contributing to the Visitor & Information Services branch as well as providing guidance and/or mentoring to colleagues and/or volunteers ensuring they are included, supported and well-informed

Participating in, contributing to and/or managing financial, human resource and/or ICT responsibilities as per the organisational delegations, policies and procedures
