About the Role

The Classroom Support Assistant (CSA) is a member of the Classroom Support Team (CST). The role of the Classroom Support Assistant is to provide in class support thus enabling teachers to provide support for identified special needs students as they work to achieve the academic goals and social skills required for independent learning and confident participation at St Monica’s and in the wider community.

Essential Criteria

  • A commitment to the goals of Catholic education and a readiness to foster the aims and vision of the school in the wider community.
  • Applies knowledge in areas and a range of skills in a variety of roles and tasks.
  • Uses discretion and judgement in organising and achieving outcomes in time constraints.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, in particular the ability to relate well to students and to work in teams with staff members.
  • Initiative and the ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently, working independently and flexibly to adjust to changing situations.
  • Knowledge and training equivalent to completion of either a diploma or Certificate II, III or IV in School/Education Support or other relevant qualification (or be currently studying) would be beneficial.
