Process Safety Engineer – Manufacturing
Work location: Dawson Rd., Perth Airport, WA
Roster: Monday to Friday
Key responsibilities:
Performing process safety and risk engineering duties within various project phases including planning, design, construction, testing, operation and maintenance Coordinating and / or facilitating safety studies including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL Determination, Consequence Modelling, Bowtie Analysis and Pre Start-up Safety Review Facilitation of operational risk assessments and SFARP assessments Coordinating the development of Safety Requirements Specifications for safety instrumented functions Providing guidance to project teams on regulatory requirements, safety study requirements and resolution of technical safety queries Technical review of safety study reports and close out of safety study actions Identifying safety critical elements and implementing performance standards Contributing to the development of standards, procedures, guidelines and training materials for the effective implementation of the Process Safety Management System Ensuring process safety standards are applied consistently to all phases of projects Qualifications and skills required:
Tertiary qualification in engineering Experience in chemical processing, petrochemical or related industry Experience in coordination and facilitation of process safety studies Knowledge of applicable statutory requirements, Australian and international codes and standards Excellent engagement skills across all business levels Excellent problem-solving skills Advanced MS Office skills Ability to operate in a dynamic and challenging environment Experience with functional safety is highly desirable. Experience with hydrogen or automated assembly lines is highly desirable Candidates must be able to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking, and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone.
