The HR Business Partner is responsible for leading as a trusted advisor that supports the development, implementation and evaluation of people initiatives. You will partner with our business leaders to understand operational needs, barriers and people related issues to create tailored strategies and interventions, unlocking potential and creating value.

This role is responsible for leading a team of HR Operations Consultants and supporting managers through the entire employee life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Adecco DFR people managers and provide trusted advice, support and delivery of initiatives that aligns to the overall Adecco DFR People Strategy and contributes to the overarching DFR strategy and objectives.
  • Work with the People and Performance Manager to develop, contribute and deliver key People programs that align to the Adecco DFR People Strategy.
  • Proactively identify and assess key people issues, partnering with people managers to resolve and minimise risk.
  • Translate strategic workforce plans into tangible actions, aligned to the Adecco DFR People Strategy.
  • Provide trusted and accurate advice on queries relating to performance management, leave, HR policy, workforce legislation, remuneration and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor people managers on best practice, compliant and supportive approaches to managing their workforce for high performance and strong engagement.
  • Leverage feedback, research, insights and data to identify opportunities for improvement, change or adjustment, applying an innovative approach to leveraging these.
  • Maintain currency of knowledge of HR and workplace related legislative changes and updates, ensuring alignment of policies, procedures and documents with any changes and updates.
  • Assess and coordinate all ad hoc HR requests as the primary point of contact.
  • Create, amend and manage key HR documents, including employment contracts, and position descriptions.
  • Lead a high performing, supported and engaged team, focussed on the development of individuals skills, capability and career goals.
  • Develop, manage and maintain a high service level client relationship through the provision of services that meet or exceed the expectations of Defence and the DFR Adecco contract, further encouraging a strong and ongoing relationship between Adecco and the Commonwealth of Australia.
  • Profile

    What we’re looking for:

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Psychology or Human Behaviour related studies but not essential if substantiated by relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Human Resource Management ideally having served as a Human Resources Business Partner in a sales or agency environment
  • A proven track record partnering with senior leaders, forming positive working relationships, influencing outcomes, continuous improvement and capability uplift
  • Prior Change Management experience
  • Experience in employee relations, investigations and grievance management, and IR/ER case management
  • Excellent command of Business English, with both written & oral communication skills
  • Experience in supporting medium-scale HR transformation
  • Driven and pro-active with a hands-on mentality and a positive attitude
  • Strong listening skills to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise work and focus on high-priority tasks
