About the Organisation
A Federal Government Agency looking to engage two HR officers to join their highly performing People and Culture Branch on a month non-ongoing contract with possible extension.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists within the Employee Relations and Performance (ER&P) team for a dynamic, experienced, and motivated self-starter. The ER&P team is a small fast-paced team providing advice to a wide range of stakeholders across the Agency to ensure consistent interpretation and application of legislation, HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
The role supports employees to meet our legislative obligations and well as working closely with management to provide strategic advice and assistance in a range of workplace matters.

The HR Advisor works closely within the team and other areas across People Branch to ensure a high level of customer service to internal and external clients.
The role is required to undertake the secretariat function for the Agency National Consultative Forum. This role will support with developing, reviewing, and updating employment related policies, procedures, delegations and instruments and provide timely and expert employment relations advice to business areas about HR matters.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Have the ability to engage and develop strong collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement, knowledge and discretion in interpreting and providing credible and consistent HR advice.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a key team player, working with others to achieve effective outcomes.
  • For the APS5 Level experience in a HR role in an APS context will be highly regarded
  • For the APS6 Level experience in providing technical, specialist and/or complex HR advice in an APS context will be highly regarded.
