Registered Nurse

Emergency Department

RN Grade 2 (YP3 – YP11)

Base Salary Range $35.04 – $46.86 per hour
Permanent Full/Part Time

(up to 312 hours per fortnight available)

The Position

We are seeking suitably qualified Registered Nurses to join our dedicated Emergency Department to provide nursing care according to individual patient assessment and healthcare needs. This permanent full or part time position is available for an immediate start andincludes working a rotating 7 day, 24 hour roster. The successful applicants will deliver individualised nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team as per the patient care requirements, liaising with other members of the health care team as necessary. Please indicate in your application how many hours you’re interested in (maximum of 80 hours per fortnight). Ideally we are seeking a Registered Nurse with a minimum 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse, with a post graduate certificate or qualification or working towards onewould be desirable.

The Health Service

Grampians Health incorporates Horsham & Dimboola, Ballarat, Edenhope and Stawell Campuses. Grampians Health – Wimmera has an average of16,000 ED attendances, 12,500 admissions and 4,600 operations annually. We have a modern theatre complex, including a day procedure unit, a five-bed intensive care unit, and acute and subacute wards all set within a picturesque garden setting.

Key Selection Criteria include:

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Clinical Skills and experience relevant to emergency nursing
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement, customer service and patient centred care
  • Proficiency in the use of information technology
  • Able to work effectively both in a team and autonomously
  • Desirable:

  • Post Graduate/Certificate qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support or willingness to obtain the qualification
  • Experience with Ability to work in Triage
