Vinpac was established in 1975 to provide contract bottling services to customers in the Australian wine industry. Today, we operate two facilities located in the iconic Barossa and McLaren Vale wine regions of South Australia. 

We offer customers a complete service of packaging material supply and inventory management, bottling, winemaking, bulk wine storage, laboratory services, warehousing and distribution. These services are underpinned by our commitment to quality in everything we do.

Laboratory Technician

  • Full Time role

  • A day in the life of a Laboratory Technician at Vinpac:

  • Ensure the laboratory is operated to the highest safety standards possible.
  • Ensure all HACCP and food safety practices are followed at all times. 
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed at all times.
  • Effectively communicate with other Team Members in the laboratory and across multiple departments.
  • Perform chemical and microbiological analysis.
  • Ensure the validity of results through QA & QC protocols.
  • Enter, review and report data using LIMS & other company systems.
  • Perform instrument troubleshooting and report any issues to the Area Manager or Scientific team.
  • Perform calibration and maintenance activities as per site calibration and maintenance program.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure that the laboratory is maintained in a clean and tidy condition conducive to the effective operation of the department. 
  • Proactively seek and recommend continuous improvement of operating systems and procedures.
  • Actively contribute to all meetings held within the laboratory, and other departments, as required. 
  • Other duties as required by Laboratory Team Leader or the Area Manager – Laboratory.
  • What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Previous laboratory experience
  • High level of literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
  • Ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Ability to work across teams.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
  • Strong desire to develop self and team
