Job Description

A rare opportunity to join a newly formed team tasked with establishing the new Department of Government Services. As the recruitment Adviser will work with stakeholders across the department and portfolio agencies, facilitating end to end recruitment, selection processes and delivering outcomes in a corporate recruitment function. You will have experience in managing recruitment for multiple portfolios, excellent customer service and relationship building skills, and strong written communication skills that will see you succeed in this role. The role will require someone to be able to work in a transactional environment as well as be expected to use high levels of initiative and experience in high pressure, deadline driven environments where you are able to deliver quality outcomes. The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone’s experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven extensive experience in a similar position conducting end to end recruitment and selection and delivering successful outcomes in an internal corporate recruitment function, along with working knowledge of talent and applicant management systems
  • Clearly and confidently communicates with people at all levels of the organisation coupled with high attention to detail and strong written communication skills
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills to make sound judgements, with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and provide advice on processes, policies and best practice recruitment
  • Provide exceptional customer service with demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver recruitment outcomes in a challenging and evolving environment
  • Highly developed initiative demonstrated accountability and adaptability in a dynamic setting with limited supervision
