Client Services Officer (Medical Administration / Reception) – Icon Cancer Centre Southport

  • Permanent, Part-Time Role (25 hours per week over minimum 4 days)
  • Join the administration team supporting our oncology day hospital and making a difference in our patients lives.
  • Varied role: Work across medical records, medical reception and patient admissions.
  • Centre Hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday

    As a Client Services Officer on a part-time basis based in Southport, you’ll join a truly connected and talented team who are passionate about delivering the best possible patient care.

  • Organising, retrieval and distribution of medical records for inpatient hospital admissions and appointments
  • Sorting and filing medical records in filing bays or compactus
  • Maintaining the records registers
  • Completing Audits of Medical Records
  • Creating new treatment plans and hard charts for clinics
  • Greeting patients and visitors at reception ensuring they are received in a professional, efficient and friendly manner
  • Facilitate the Patient Admission and Discharge procedures/paperwork
  • Performing health fund checks upon patient arrival, discussing any costs / gap payments / co-payments
  • Ensuring patients details are checked and updated on a regular basis
  • Ensuring that patients arrivals are marked and manage wait room functions for both medical practice and day hospital as needed
  • What we hope you bring to the team

  • Experience in a similar role within the Healthcare industry.
  • Experience with Medicare DVA and Private Health.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate with clarity both verbally (face-to-face and telephone) and written.
  • Ability to use computer systems – competence required in Word and Excel.
  • Delivery of excellent client service (to internal and/or external clients).
  • Working autonomously, with a focus on compliance, repetitive tasks.
