Named in honour of Captain Charles Sturt, who explored large tracts of inland Australia, the pioneering spirit continues at CSU, where the main areas of focus are science, arts, education, business and justice. Boasting 40,000 students, this university mainly services regional New South Wales, with its six premier campuses dotting the state. There are a number of things that set CSU apart from other Australian universities: it boasts the highest graduate employment rate (>86%), it became Australia’s first carbon neutral university in 2016, and has been recognised for its gender equality and high performance sports programs.
